He was a man in the middle of his life. He had a son and daughter and grandchild. He had been through some rough patches. Alcoholism and Hepatitis C. He had been evicted from his home. He had to move himself and his son into his brother's house. He was sober and working on his health. He had a job where got dirty and grimy everyday. He worked hard and was appreciated by his boss and co-workers. He was working to make the life of his young son better. He had a date with his girlfriend last Saturday night. He took her home. He drove the familiar roads back home. He took a curve too fast. He is gone.
He was my client. He confided in me. He trusted me to represent him, to act on his behalf. He confessed the highs and lows and demons and angels of his life. He defined redemption. And it hurts my heart that he is gone.

So sorry, toots. Life seems so unbalanced sometimes. Just when someone starts really living their life and conquering their demons...
Not fair. Not fair at all.
Oh - I'm sorry. That's really sad!
